For peace and security of the people, the Journalists for Democratic Rights, (JODER) was invited to help organise a Peace Building meeting of several groups in the South West States of Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, Ondo, Edo and Delta State including Kwara and Kogi States under the banner of Pan Yoruba Democratic Movements, PYDM and Western Nigeria Community Based Organisations, (WNCBO). The conference held in Lagos and was chaired by JODER Executive Director, Adewale Adeoye. We had a rainbow collection of participants from all the SW states plus Kwara, Kogi, Delta and Edo States with close to 1000 participants, farmers unions, tailors, mechanics, fishers, students, community based groups, media and even representatives of Yoruba groups in Ivory Coast, Ghana, Benin Republic, Northern, Southern Nigeria and the West African Coast. A new coalition emerged for the promotion of peaceful coexistence ahead of the 2023 elections. Observers also came from Northern and Eastern Nigeria. We hope to build on this rock
